The 18th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide took down No. 15 TCU 3-2 in a back-and-forth ranked battle Thursday night at Alabama Soccer Stadium, handing the Horned Frogs their first loss of the season and snapping TCU's regular-season unbeaten streak against ranked opponents that dated back to August 2024.

The two sides traded blows in a frantic opening 17 minutes. Alabama struck first in the 8th minute, converting a penalty kick after a TCU handball in the box. The Horned Frogs answered in the 15th when Emma Yolinsky stripped an Alabama defender and buried a strike from outside the box, but the Crimson Tide regained the lead just two minutes later, forcing an own goal off a dangerous corner kick delivery to go up 2-1. Alabama controlled the rest of the half territorially, outshooting TCU 9-4 with three shots on goal before the break.

TCU pulled level early in the second half, with Yolinsky heading home a cross in the 48th minute for her brace, but the deadlock lasted less than ten minutes. In the 55th, Ashley Roni broke free streaking down the field and slipped her finish past TCU keeper Olivia Geller to restore the Alabama lead at 3-2. From there, the Crimson Tide defense held firm, weathering a late push from the Horned Frogs to close out a statement win over a ranked opponent in the season's opening week.
