Kentucky opened its 2026 season in dominant fashion, routing Detroit Mercy 6-0 behind goals from five different players, and doing so in a way that made program history.

The Wildcats needed just 1:11 to get on the board, as Alexis Tylenda buried the opening goal to give Kentucky an early lead. From there, the floodgates opened. Alabama transfer Nadia Ramadan scored twice from the penalty spot to help Kentucky race out to a 3-0 advantage in under 20 minutes, and freshman Kyla Dawn tacked on another before halftime to send the Wildcats into the break up 4-0. Juliette Rayo and Dani Chaump each added a goal in the second half to complete the scoring.

Kentucky dominated the shot chart from start to finish, outshooting Detroit Mercy 31 to 3 overall and 13 to 1 on goal. Rayo, Elle Price and Sydney Arendarczyk each picked up an assist along the way. The win extended Kentucky's shutout streak to open the season, marking the first time in program history the Wildcats have opened their first three matches with three straight shutout victories.

The result improved Kentucky to 1-0 on the year as the Wildcats look to build on last season's run to the Women's College Cup. Kentucky continues its season-opening stretch against Kent State next, while Detroit Mercy looks to regroup after the lopsided defeat.
