Whenever anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always “a mom.”

From as early as I can remember, I aspired to be a mother.

But it wasn’t until I actually became one that I realized something…

We glorify motherhood, while quietly expecting mothers to act like they’re not one.

Have the kids, but still be everything to everyone.
Be present, but build the career.
Never miss a practice, but don’t miss a social life either.
Create the perfect bedtime routine, but also prioritize your workouts.
Breastfeed your baby, but somehow look like you never had one.

It’s exhausting.

Motherhood is hard. That feels like an understatement, but here we are wearing “I’m fine” like a badge of honor, as if struggling somehow means we’re failing.

And when you’re deep in it, asking for help can feel impossible. And when you finally do, you’re often met with “you’re fine” or “it gets better” or “every mom goes through this.”

But what if instead, we met mothers with grace?

What if we created space to talk about the hard parts without judgment?
What if we stopped apologizing for the mess, for the chaos, for not having it all together?

No guilt for the messy house.
No pressure to look put together.
No shame if the kids don’t match.

Just real life. Real motherhood.

If you’re a mom and you’re reading this, you’re doing an incredible job 🤍
