I bet you've never seen a rainbow quite like this!

This crystal transformation is not just thanks to the borax but also the water's temperature. As the hot water cools and evaporates, it can't hold on to the extra borax anymore. That extra borax starts to cling and form crystals on any nearby surface it can find, which just happens to be the pipe cleaner rainbow!
