JAKOB MAKES HIS DIAMOND LEAGUE RETURN 🔥💎

With Olympic and World Champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen set to return to the Diamond League on August 23 in Silesia, let’s take a look back at some of the biggest moments from his career on the circuit 💥

2017: At just 16 years old, Ingebrigtsen became the youngest athlete at the time to break four minutes in the mile, running 3:58.07 at the Prefontaine Classic.

2020: In his fourth year on the circuit, Ingebrigtsen claimed his first Diamond League meeting win in Oslo. He clocked 4:50.01 over the rarely contested 2000m.

2021: Ingebrigtsen surged from third to first over the final 100m of the 5000m in Florence, winning in a European Record of 12:48.45.

2023: Ingebrigtsen picked up his third consecutive Prefontaine Classic mile victory, edging Yared Nuguse to win in 3:43.73. At the time, the performance made Ingebrigtsen the third fastest miler of all time.

2023: Returning to the 2000m, Ingebrigtsen shattered the World Record in Brussels, clocking 4:43.13 to take more than a second off Hicham El Guerrouj’s previous mark of 4:44.79, which had stood since 1999.

2023: In Paris, Ingebrigtsen produced another dominant performance, running the fastest-ever 2 miles in 7:54.10. He finished more than 15 seconds ahead of second place.

2024: In Monaco, Ingebrigtsen lowered his own European 1500m Record to 3:26.73, becoming just the fourth man in history to break 3:27. He closed with a 54.0-second final lap, recording the fastest 1500m time in the world, at the time, since 2015.

2024: In Silesia, Ingebrigtsen took down a 28-year-old 3000m World Record, clocking 7:17.55 to become the first man in history to break 7:20. He took more than three seconds off Daniel Komen’s previous record of 7:20.67.
