A look behind the scenes from this morning’s early Sunday start at the Sky Sports studios, where I caught up with skysportsnews reporter jamessavundra to talk about the Asian Football Awards 2026 and why South Asian representation across football still needs to improve.

I always enjoy coming on Sky Sports, and it’s important that the conversation around South Asians in football continues to be heard on mainstream platforms. There has been progress, but there is still a lot more to do.

With the Awards fast approaching, there’s also an important deadline coming up.
