19 year ago today
This picture popped up on my Facebook this morning. The Hunter seen in this photo was just out of a year of court mandated rehab. A wild soul who couldn’t be caged or corralled by anyone. 
I had no direction in my life so I would often lean towards the most exciting way to spend the day which was alcohol and drugs. I was never addicted to any of them, I just needed to feel something. I need to lose control in the power of it all then do my best to hold on. 

Eventually I found training and sport which changed everything. If you look at my faces when I race it is very similar to this photo of me wasted. I’m on the verge of blowing up but I still find a way to fight back against the race that is trying to burn me down to the ground. 

I am so grateful for the life I have. I love that failure and success is defined by my strength against the odds. It holds me accountable unlike anything else in the world. 

So if you have similar struggles, I believe physical challenges such as sport are a massive success for you to make change. It was for me and many other people I know. Just something to think about….
