Just before 4 p.m., Metra officials said outbound MDW trains were halted near the Schaumburg station at 2000 South Springinsguth Road as police investigated. Inbound trains were passing through the station with restricted speeds. The person who was struck survived but was transported to a local hospital and their condition was not immediately known, officials said.
