Entrepreneurship changes the relationship between time and money.

For most traditional jobs, the equation is relatively straightforward:

More hours worked → more money earned.

So when we become entrepreneurs, it’s easy to carry that same equation into our businesses.

Need more revenue?

Work more hours.

But eventually, that model hits a ceiling.

There are only 24 hours in a day.

And if your only strategy for growth is continually giving the business more of your time, eventually the resource you’re trying to scale becomes…

you.

That’s where leverage enters the equation.

Build systems.

Create assets.

Develop skills.

Use technology.

Delegate where appropriate.

Create something once that can continue producing value tomorrow.

Yes—especially in the beginning, building something meaningful can require an enormous amount of work.

But the goal shouldn’t be to become permanently trapped inside the machine you built.

The goal is to build a machine that eventually creates value beyond the hours you personally put into it.

That’s the shift.

Don’t just ask:

“How can I work more?”

Start asking:

“How can the work I’m already doing become worth more?”
