## Caption

An Otaku High Schooler Remains an Otaku in Old Age

I drew these autobiographical comics for Amai Marui vol. 2, a doujinshi created by marunmarutan.

They look back on my life—from my days as an otaku high school student obsessed with anime, games, and doujinshi, to art university, my beginnings as a contemporary artist, and the creation of my early life-size figure works.

I put a great deal of care into these drawings, yet strangely, they ended up resembling the style I drew in during high school and college.

While drawing them, I remembered that when I was in high school, I didn’t even know that being a painter could be a profession.

Perhaps self-deprecating stories are the easiest ones to draw.

「オタク高校生は老いても尚オタクなのでした」

漫画同人誌『あまいまるい vol.2』に描かせてもらった、自伝的な漫画です。

高校時代のオタク生活から、美大時代、現代美術家になるまで、そして初期の等身大フィギュア作品を制作した頃までを描きました。

かなりこだわって描いたのですが、不思議なことに、高校・大学時代の自分の画風に似たものになりました。

描きながら、高校生の頃は「絵描き」という職業が成立することさえ知らなかったなあと、当時のことを思い出していました。

自虐的な話は、なぜかスラスラ描けます。
