Social media is entering its post content era.

On August 20, Meta began rolling out Pocket across the US.

Users type a prompt and create interactive mini games, memes, and experiences that appear inside a vertical social feed.

You can tap them.

Drag them.

Remix them.

Repost them.

Modify them.

Pocket runs on Meta’s Muse Spark AI model.

That changes something fundamental.

The social post is becoming executable.

Text became photos.

Photos became video.

Video may now become interactive AI media.

Then Patreon moved in the opposite direction.

Today, August 21, Patreon announced changes to its discovery system designed to help smaller creators surface based on the actual topic, style, and substance of their work instead of primarily rewarding creators who are already large.

It is also building stronger verification and anti scraping protections aimed at defending creators from AI harvesting their work.

That collision is the signal.

Meta wants AI to produce more.

Patreon wants humans to remain valuable inside the abundance.

Forward Hypothesis

The next social web will contain vastly more synthetic media.

Games.

Tools.

Characters.

Interactive stories.

Infinite remixable content.

But abundance creates its own scarcity.

When anyone can generate almost anything, the rarest asset becomes someone you actually trust and want to follow.

AI makes creation infinite.

Human connection becomes the premium layer.
