With the stamina gauge removed, players have greater freedom to chain attacks and abilities while possessing different fallen warriors known as Shells, each offering unique strengths and combat possibilities.

Mortal Shell II is a standalone action RPG sequel developed by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack. Players control the Harbinger, tasked with reclaiming the Undermether's stolen Ova while exploring an interconnected open world containing more than 60 dungeons. The sequel features eight playable Shells, extensive weapon upgrades, powerful sidearms, challenging bosses, and an increased emphasis on exploration and player freedom.
