Nobody actually goes to a café for the wifi.

They go because the flat is small, the work is lonely, and it is nicer to be around people even when you are not talking to any of them. 

The laptop is just the excuse to be there.

Underneath all of this is a fairly simple thing. People want somewhere to be, and people to be there with.

We think that is about to get harder. Work is going remote and asynchronous. Education is moving into tabs and cohorts and 2am videos. Even the places people used to meet by accident, an office floor, a classroom, a counter you stood at every morning, are quietly thinning out. Connection used to be a side effect of everything else. Soon it becomes something you have to go out and build on purpose.

The Hub has spent nine years building rooms for exactly that. People live here, learn here, and build next to each other in Bengaluru. A collective more than a company, made up of people who want to make things and would rather not do it alone.
