The Trump administration just released its plan to undo the landmark 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule and remove protections from nearly 45 million acres of wild, intact, national forests and 70,000 miles of rivers and streams. If finalized, this move will open pristine public lands to road construction, commercial logging, and other development across 37 states.

We've fought to keep these public lands wild and roadless before, and we must defend them again.

Roadless forests are essential to wildlife's survival. Across the United States, grizzly bears, wolverines, Canada lynx, native salmon, and dozens of other endangered species depend on the roadless stretches of our forests to keep them safe from destructive human activities.

Opening these areas to development will pollute drinking-water sources for millions of people with sediment from road construction and logging. More roads will also increase human-caused wildfires, ignited by unattended campfires or sparks from vehicles.

The administration has only given the public a short time to weigh in. Tell the U.S. Forest Service to keep roadless national forests protected by clicking the link in our bio, going to biodiv.us/roadlessrule or by commenting "roadless".
