🇺🇸 AN ALL-VETERAN SEARCH CREW.

Saturday was a damn good day in the desert.

We ran two teams, and somehow I ended up with an all-veteran crew. And except for me, they were all women — including one currently serving on active duty.

It was faux king awesome!

They showed up. They hiked strong. They understood the mission. They didn't need to be pushed or babysat. They just put their covers (hats) on, held their heads high, and covered ground.

By the time we finished, temperatures were well into the 90s. We put in good miles in hard country, and I'm incredibly grateful for every one of them.

And I'm grateful for every volunteer — veteran and civilian — who continues to show up for this work. ❤️

But I would absolutely love to see more veterans out here with us!

If you served and you're still looking for a place to put those skills, that discipline, and that sense of purpose to work — come search with us. ✊

More than 300 people have been found D€∆D in this small area of southern Doña Ana County in just a few years.

Battalion Search & Rescue has reported more than 40 sites in this county alone in under three years — and more than 100 when you include our work in Arizona.

That's almost 3 a month!

And yet there is still no systematic government search effort for the missing and the D€∆D.

Think about that.

Hundreds D€∆D!

Bodies and human remains scattered across the desert.

Volunteers repeatedly finding them.

And the government agencies responsible for this county still aren't searching.

So we will keep asking why the people with the authority, personnel, and resources to do something about this chose not to.

As my farm-raised father used to say, some people are “as useless as teets on a bull.”

So I'll ask again:

Why aren't you searching, Sheriff Stewart?

🇺🇸 Veterans still serving.
🥾 Volunteers still searching.
❤️ The lost are still not forgotten.

WE SEARCH FOR THE LOST BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.
