We open on Max Steven Grossman’s “Bookscape,” a library that never existed, built from thousands of real book spines digitally reassembled into one impossible shelf. Next, Mariela Garibay’s hand-carved marble baby, soft and tender despite the stone. Patrick Hughes’ reverspective paintings follow, works that appear to rotate as you walk past them, though nothing on the canvas ever moves. Isabelle Scheltjens’ glass-fusion portrait resolves out of pure abstraction the farther back you stand. Audra Weaser layers pigment onto wood, veils it in white, then sands back through to find the final composition. Eric Alfaro’s impasto florals. Nemo Jantzen’s thread-and-nail portrait, built one pulled string at a time. Gregory Watin reconstructs city blocks from photography, plexiglass, and wood into vibrant urban collage. Julien Marinetti’s bronze panda, hand-sculpted in clay, cast, then painted to a porcelain-like shine. Alexi Torres thread works, Richard Orlinski’s iconic sculpture, Taher Jaoui’s dense-built abstracts. And a brand new Mr. Brainwash.
