## Caption

On May 27, 2003, the Giants and Diamondbacks were tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 9th when Rivera stepped in as the potential winning run. After Marquis Grissom drove the ball into right-center field, absolute chaos broke out.

Rivera sprinted, backtracked thinking the ball was caught, realized it dropped, and took off again only to notice he missed second base. He rushed back to touch it, reached third on a throwing error, and recklessly gambled on trying to score.

His wild dash ended in an out at home plate. Fortunately for him, the Giants ultimately secured a 4-3 victory in 13 innings.
