tonight I opened the new Woody Guthrie documentary at The Belcourt Theatre with a verse of “this land is your land” most people never hear…

Woody wrote it as a protest song… the lines about private property and government surveillance got cut before it ever reached your grade school music class

now more than ever we must remember these words and sing them as loud as we can.
