Presenting our #BlackHistoryMonth theme - Honoring Jazz: A #BlackHistory Celebration 🎺🎶🎷

This month in the City of East Orange, we are celebrating Black History and recognizing the historical contributions of African Americans to the musical genre of Jazz.

Jazz reflects identity, resilience, and innovation and we are proud to celebrate the rich diversity of jazz by highlighting local East Orange and New Jersey native jazz artists.

The highlight of our #BHM celebration will be a pair of Pop Up jazz events and our Close Out event at the end of the month. We hope to see you all there and all around the City during Black History Month! 

🎷 Feb. 13 Pop Up @ Elmwood Presbyterian Church feat. Jacque Johnson's Sidewalk Swing (6-7pm)
🎷 Feb. 19 @ City Hall feat. the Cicely L. Tyson Jazz Band (1-2pm)
🎷 Feb. 25 Close Out @ East Orange Public Library feat. WBGO's Lezlie Harrison and violinist Kwao Taylor (5-8pm)
