Rebecca Sugar (she/they) is an animator, creative director and producer, television writer, and singer-songwriter from Maryland. They are most known for being the creator and executive producer of the animated show Steven Universe (2013-2019). Sugar is the first queer and nonbinary woman to work as a creator for Cartoon Network, and promotes LGBTQ representation and themes into their work.
