Hi, I’m Jules. If we haven’t met yet, I wanted to start here rather than jump straight into tips.

We didn’t just get well-meaning advice from friends. We had five psychologists, doctors and the school, each with a plan. 

Every one of them assumed my daughter could physically do the thing they were asking, get out of the car, walk to the gate. 

She couldn’t. 
For a long time that made me think we were the ones getting it wrong.

We weren’t. 
All of it was starting in the wrong place.

I sat in those rooms as a mum long before I ever looked at any of it through my social work training. I lived the trenches first, then spent years working out what actually helped versus what just sounded right on paper, tested against everything I’d studied and everything I’ve kept researching since.

She missed over 100 days in one school year alone.
She successfully graduated and is now at her first-choice university.

This account, and the books behind it, are everything I wish even one of those five people had told me. If your mornings look anything like ours did, you don’t need another opinion. You need the piece that was missing from all of theirs.
