THE CANADA-U.S. TRADE WAR JUST ESCALATED ‼️😳🇨🇦🇺🇸

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada has walked away from the latest U.S. trade offer, calling Canadian negotiators back to Ottawa as new 50% U.S. tariffs on a range of Canadian exports take effect. 

Among the Canadian goods being hit are beer, wine, cider & liquor 🍺 hockey equipment 🏒 honey 🍯 milk & cream 🥛 Christmas decorations 🎄 clothing 👕 power tools 🛠️ and gaming/electronic products 🎮, along with numerous other goods. 

Carney says Canada will now respond dollar-for-dollar, with new retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods set to begin September 8, the Tuesday after Labour Day. Details of Canada’s full response are expected in the coming days.
