The mayoral race in Canada’s capital has revealed a MAJOR divide on the topic of Palestine….

Last week, the National Council of Canadian Muslims and Ottawa Muslim Vote hosted mayoral candidate Neil Saravanamuttoo for a town hall. 

Neil committed to confronting Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism, recognized what has taken place in Gaza as genocide, and pledged to raise the Palestinian flag at Ottawa City Hall.

His position presents a clear contrast with current Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, who supported proceeding with an Israeli flag-raising at City Hall in 2024 and withdrew from Capital Pride events following its statement expressing solidarity with Palestinians.
