Three Canadian teams took part in the Lightning North American Championship held August 10-15 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The team of Luke Ramsay, Alec Coleman and Annie Haeger, representing the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, was the best Canadian squad with a fifth position overall out of 57 boats.

Trois équipes canadiennes ont pris part au Championnat nord-américain en Lightning qui s’est déroulé du 10 au 15 août à Sheboygan, au Wisconsin. L’équipe composée de Luke Ramsay, Alec Coleman et Annie Haeger, représentant le Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, a été la meilleure formation canadienne, se classant cinquième au classement général sur 57 bateaux.
