Taylor Sheridan’s The Last Cowboy is getting its biggest broadcast spotlight yet, as CBS brings The Run for a Million to network television. According to Paramount, the two-hour special airs Saturday, August 22 from 8–10 PM ET/PT on CBS and will also stream on Paramount+. Sheridan will call the action from South Point Casino in Las Vegas as 16 elite riders compete for reining’s ultimate prize: $1 million.

For the past six seasons, The Last Cowboy has taken viewers inside the world of professional reining, following the riders and horses competing at the highest level of the sport. Each season culminates with The Run for a Million, the arena competition Sheridan created in 2019.

The CBS move gives the competition a major network television platform, but The Last Cowboy itself remains on CMT. According to Paramount, Season 7 will air on CMT later this fall, while all previous seasons are available on Paramount+. The 2026 Run for a Million continues the franchise’s deep connection to Las Vegas and South Point.
