Portland isn’t the women’s sports capital of America by accident.🔥

This summer, the city was home to three professional women’s sports teams competing at the same time — the Thorns⚽️, the Fire🏀, and the newly launched Portland Cascade🥎 bringing professional softball to a city that was already all in. One team developed the foundation, and the next continued to build on it. Now, there’s an ecosystem that organizations keep choosing, not because of one franchise, but because of what the whole city has become.

As Karina LeBlanc puts it — it’s not three teams. It’s a generation growing up believing they belong here. Young girls watching and young boys seeing girls as equals. It’s about future leaders being shaped by what this city decided to invest in.
