Foodie Bucket List. If you’re only in town for a weekend, these are the must-tries.
- Tasting Tuscaloosa Walking Food Tour (wear comfortable shoes). We visited five restaurants and I highly recommend doing this on your first night so you can figure out which places deserve a second visit (like we did). @tasting_tuscaloosa 
- BBQ Ribs from @dreamlandbbq (some of the best barbecue in the Americas)
- Fried Catfish from Catfish Heaven
Blue Crab Claws from @urbanbarandkitchen (I went back twice for these!)
Mussels from The River
Champion’s Breakfast from @rama_jamas
Yellow Hammer – Tuscaloosa’s signature drink (my favorite was from @sugottown )
Boiled Peanuts – Peanut Bar (try the collard green boiled peanuts!)
Banana Pudding – Honestly…you’re in Tuscaloosa. You can’t go wrong.

- Tuscaloosa Civil Rights Trail (don’t skip this). Download the Visit Tuscaloosa app to see all 18 landmarks and learn the history behind each one. If you’re short on time, make sure you visit:

Howard-Linton Barbershop Plaza
Capitol Park
Hunter Chapel AME Zion Church
Foster Auditorium
- Browse local art at Kentuck Art Center & Gallery Shop
- Spend the day at Lake Lurleen State Park (paddleboarding, canoeing, hiking, fishing, swimming, or relaxing on the beach)
- Rent an e-bike from Hotel Indigo and explore downtown (Make a bike stop at @theparlor_tuscaloosa for Insta Graham ice cream. Thank me later).
- If you’re a football fan, tour the University of Alabama campus and visit the Walk of Champions.
