But when he was a kid, the high holidays were the one stretch of the year he actually had his dad. Walking to temple together mattered more than anything that happened inside it.✨

For a year, after his father died, Howie said kaddish, every day. Despite tight touring schedule. A man restructuring his working life around something he wasn’t certain he believed in, because of respect to his father.🙏

Sometimes that’s what tradition actually is. Not conviction. Refusing to let go of the thing that connected you to someone.
