Nick Saban says leaving LSU for the Miami Dolphins was the biggest professional mistake of his career. 😳

Saban left LSU after the 2004 season and spent two years in Miami, going 15-17 before returning to college football. He says the experience made him realize he preferred developing players at the college level.

Before leaving LSU, agent Jimmy Sexton asked Saban whether he wanted his legacy to resemble Vince Lombardi or Bear Bryant. Saban immediately chose Bryant.

Sexton responded: “What are you doing going to Miami then?”

Saban went anyway, and ultimately returned to college to win six national championships at Alabama.
