## Caption

Most space themed logos are complete clip art, here’s why I threw this one out.

The first issue lies entirely in the stylized Moon C in the word mark. It’s stealing some of the thunder of the current  icon resting behind the words.

I see the eclipse idea in there, and honestly it’s nota bad logo but it doesn’t have the greatest sihouette from a memorability stand point. So I thought it needed a change.

When the visual caption head reached out for a concept on the Eclipse Drum & Bugle Corps identity, I wanted to avoid the generic glowing circle trope too.

 Instead, we built a dual-meaning mark where the eclipse itself forms the pupil, radiating sunrays construct the iris, and that crescent geometry dictates the angle of the ‘C’ in the wordmark. 

Kept it strictly monochrome because high contrast wins.
