There are things I felt here that I still don’t have words for. So I’ll use the ones I have.

I have been in Vietnam a short time. Not long enough to know a country this old. Long enough to be changed by it.

The energy here is different. It moves fast and loud and it never once rattled me. Beautifully chaotic. A dance between love and life that somehow leaves you calmer than it found you.

The people humble me. Every single interaction. Kind without conditions. Patient without me having to earn it. Grace and integrity, over and over, from strangers who owed me nothing.

Since I’ve been here I’ve become more emotional. More vulnerable. More open to the wonders and the miracles I used to walk past. My stress dropped away. I sleep. I eat. I breathe all the way down.

And somewhere in that, I’m beginning to find myself again.

I’ve spent so much of my life being a human doing. Producing. Proving. Vietnam handed me the quietest reminder I have ever received, that I am allowed to be a human being instead.

Vietnam is a warm hug.
Vietnam is come on in, welcome home.
Vietnam is the calm in the storm of life.
Vietnam is a blank canvas for healing.

Calling it a special place on earth is an understatement. I haven’t scratched the surface and the impact is already made.

So this is my love letter. Thank you for opening your home. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for bringing me back to me.

I love you dearly. 🇻🇳
