Strong Group-Pilipinas Coach Charles Tiu expressed frustration over the format of the 45th William Jones Cup, saying their good performance in the preliminary round may still leave their title defense in doubt until the final day.

The Philippines is currently tied with Wonju DB and needs Japan, which is still winless, to beat the South Korean team to advance to the semifinals. Under the current tournament format, only the top two teams in the group are supposed to advance. However, host Chinese Taipei is assured a semifinal spot despite its 1-3 record.
