Playing EDC was a dream come true.
But looking back, there are a few things I wish someone told me earlier.

1: Song selection matters more than fancy transitions
People remember how your set made them feel, not how complicated or perfect the transitions were.

2: Reading the crowd is everything
Sometimes the best decision is changing your plan completely and following the energy in front of you.

3: Relationships matter just as much as talent
The music industry runs on human connection. Be a good person, support others, and build genuine relationships.

4: You need to consistently share your story
Great music alone is not enough anymore. People connect to artists they feel emotionally invested in. Spend time thinking about your strategy and who you want people to connect with.

5: You do not need perfect gear to start
Most people delay their dream waiting for the “right setup.” Your skills and consistency matter far more.

I started my DJ career at 50.
And somehow ended up playing EDC.

Which means it’s probably a lot more possible for you than you think.
