Austin FC lost its season opener, 2-1, to Minnesota United on Saturday night, February 24, 2024. The Loons dominated meaningful possession, taking 22 shot attempts with 10 shots on goal to Austin’s two shots on goal. Austin FC conceded a whopping 16 corner kicks and took just four of their own, while Brad Stuver was forced to make eight massive saves. The Verde & Black’s lone goal game in the fourth and final minute of stoppage time when newcomer Guilherme Biro got one past Dayne St. Clair, assisted by Owen Wolff.
