Uncle Neely loves what Brennan Marion and the GoGo Offense could bring to Colorado — but if the Buffs are going to take a REAL step forward in 2026, it’s going to come down to two things:

DEFENSE AND DISCIPLINE.

Last season, Colorado’s defense was handed opportunities to change games and too often couldn’t finish the job. Damon Greaves pinned opponents inside the 5-yard line NINE TIMES — and opponents still managed to score on seven of those possessions.

Then there were the close games. Five times Colorado found itself within seven points during the fourth quarter. The Buffs lost all five.

That’s where games are won.

That’s where discipline matters.

And there are encouraging signs coming out of Boulder. Since January 18, Colorado has tracked everything from being late to meals to being late for meetings — and team infractions are DOWN 53% compared to this point last year.

In this edition of Morning Wood, Uncle Neely breaks down why all the offensive fireworks in the world won’t matter if Colorado can’t get stops, finish games and stop beating itself.

The GoGo can be explosive.
