So much of my professional life has happened in front of a camera...

For more than 30 years, I’ve stepped onto sets, sat across from people, and talked about the things most of us were never really taught how to talk about: love, sex, relationships, childhood wounds, trauma, the patterns that keep us stuck, and what it actually takes to heal.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that every conversation was changing me too.

Every person who trusted me with their story taught me something about being human. Every relationship I witnessed deepened my understanding of love. Every heartbreak, rupture, repair, and transformation taught me something I couldn’t have learned from a textbook.

And then life handed me lessons I never would have chosen.

Losing my son Sammy changed everything I thought I knew about healing. It forced me to take 30 years of clinical experience and live it from the inside out.

What I know now is that healing is rarely one big breakthrough. It happens in moments.

In finally understanding why you react the way you do. In letting your body release what it has been holding. In telling yourself the truth. In allowing yourself to feel what you’ve spent years trying not to feel. In discovering that even after the unimaginable, life can expand around what has been lost.

After 30+ years as a therapist, 24 years of marriage, raising three boys, and five years learning how to live with profound grief, I’m still learning.

And I’m still incredibly grateful that I get to have these conversations, because if something I’ve lived, learned, or witnessed helps someone understand themselves differently or feel a little less alone, then every time I step in front of that camera, it still matters. ❤️‍🩹

And I have a feeling I’m nowhere near done.
