🚨🏨 115 FT REDMONT PARK HOTEL APPROVED: A proposed luxury hotel + condo development in Birmingham’s Southside got the green light for a height variance. Birmingham City Council voted 7-2 to approve zoning allowing The Tramont to reach 115 ft tall (approx. 10 stories). Here’s what to know 👇

About The Tramont:
📍Planned for 1240 22nd St. S., along Red Mtn Expressway, in Redmont Park
🏨 To include 80+ luxury hotel rooms + 10-15 condos on the top 4 floors
🧖‍♀️ Amenities like an upscale restaurant, spa + wellness center + more
⭐️ To be operated by Ithaka Hospitality, which runs The Laurel in Auburn

Development facts:
📏 The project was originally capped at 65 ft, with a second variance allowing 80 ft
🏙️ Developers said 115 ft was needed to make the project financially viable
🏗️ Next steps: Meet with the City to improve the exit off Hwy 280 leading people to the new luxury destination
