મહારાષ્ટ્રના અમરાવતીમાં વહેલી સવારે જિલ્લા મહિલા હોસ્પિટલના NICUમાં આગ લાગતા ચકચાર મચી છે. સવારે લગભગ 3:30 વાગ્યે લાગેલી આગમાં તે સમયે 39 નવજાત બાળકો સારવાર હેઠળ હતાં. પ્રાથમિક માહિતી મુજબ વેન્ટિલેટરમાં વિસ્ફોટ બાદ આગ લાગી હતી. ડોક્ટરો, નર્સો અને હોસ્પિટલ સ્ટાફે તાત્કાલિક રેસ્ક્યૂ ઓપરેશન શરૂ કરી અનેક બાળકોને સુરક્ષિત બહાર કાઢ્યા, પરંતુ દુર્ઘટનામાં 3 નવજાત બાળકોના મોત થયા છે. 6 બાળકોને વધુ સારવાર માટે સુપર-સ્પેશિયાલિટી હોસ્પિટલમાં ખસેડવામાં આવ્યા છે. આગનું ચોક્કસ કારણ જાણવા તપાસ શરૂ કરવામાં આવી છે.
