Today we’re working on knife skills, which are critical to successful cooking in the kitchen. Of course, you’ll want to tailor these to the ages of your kids, but here’s what we’re going over today. 🔪 Wash your hands
🔪 Knife safety (don’t touch the blade, tuck your thumb in, don’t hold the knife when you’re not using it)
🔪 Practice cutting (start with play dough or soft food with toddlers and young children)
🔪 Chop food in uniform sizes (we’re cutting veggies to roast so we want them to cook evenly)
🔪 Clean (never put a knife into a water-filled sink - rinse under water while holding the handle)

The type of knife cutting your kids are ready for will vary by their age and ability but let’s just get in the kitchen today and work with them where they are! So much of cutting and cooking is all about PRACTICE and REPETITION.
