We’re starting ENTERTAINMENT WEEK for #justsavejanuary and today I’m sharing all about babysitting co-ops - what they are, why I love them, and how they can save you tons of money.

I’m explaining everything in detail in my stories 👆🏼, but here are the bullet point tips for starting your own babysitting co-op:

1. Invite other families to participate
You’ll want between 2 and 4 families total, with about the same number of kids who are close to the same ages
2. Set expectations
Establish a set time frame (we do 5:30-9pm), decide if the host family will provide dinner or if everyone will feed their kids before dropping them off, set up a schedule (we’ve liked every other week for flexibility), and make sure each family is aware of allergies, special circumstances, and helpful info
3. Make it a success
Plan for you and your spouse to both be present when you’re hosting, get snacks, games and movies ready, and use backyard space when weather permits

Hopefully those tips give you some guidelines for starting a babysitting co-op. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask in the comments. Or if you’ve participated in a babysitting co-op before I’d love to hear what you thought of it!
