After calling Nebraska’s Red-White Scrimmage at Pinnacle Bank Arena, Sczech shares what stood out about her former team — including a dominant performance from Nebraska’s defense and middle blockers.

“The defense was insane,” Sczech said after watching the Huskers.

Sczech explains why Nebraska’s blocking could make life difficult for opposing offenses, how the Huskers have developed into more dynamic players and why she believes defense can help Nebraska compete for a championship.

The former Husker also breaks down Nebraska’s increased emphasis on serving. After finishing near the bottom of the Big Ten in aces last season, Nebraska has made aggressive serving a major focus entering 2026.

Sczech also looks ahead to Nebraska’s marquee early-season matchup against Texas in Las Vegas and explains why two of college volleyball’s biggest programs could provide a major showcase for the sport.

Sczech played at Baylor and Nebraska before beginning her professional volleyball career. She is now also a Big Ten Network volleyball analyst.
