Every year when we get close to this date, I find myself going back…🥹 Back to a tiny baby boy in the NICU. Back to the phone call. Back to walking into a hospital not knowing that our lives were about to change forever. We didn’t know what the future would look like. We didn’t know how long he would be ours to love. We didn’t know that this little baby, with a story already bigger than him, would one day become our Boosie Lou Who!❤️ I look at him now and sometimes it’s hard to believe he was ever that little. The boy who keeps us laughing, keeps us on our toes, keeps us tired 😂 and has brought so much joy into this family. Foster care was part of his beginning, but it was never the whole story. And as we get ready to celebrate his 7th Familyversary on Saturday (we don’t use the term “gotcha day”), I’ve just been thinking about how many little moments had to happen exactly the way they did for our lives to find each other. Nine years later, I still get emotional thinking about it. We thought we were simply saying yes to loving a baby who needed us for however long he needed us…We had no idea we were saying yes to our son. 🥹❤️ 9 years in our lives and almost 7 being adopted 🫶🏾❤️ #Familyversary #fostertoadopt #TransracialAdoption #RaisingCultures
