Congratulations to Dr. Brock Brady ’14, recipient of the Alumni Achievement Award!
Dr. Brock Brady has built an outstanding career at the intersection of scientific research, environmental stewardship, and operational leadership. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Christopher Newport University, he completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University, where his research in environmental chemistry, atmospheric science, public health, and biosensor development led to multiple first-author publications, a textbook chapter, a patent, and recognition through the Altria Research Fellowship and the American Chemical Society Editors’ Choice Award.
Today, Dr. Brady serves as Laboratory Manager of Dominion Energy’s Air Emissions Monitoring Center Laboratory and as an Air Emissions Monitoring Specialist. In this role, he oversees laboratory operations, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and technical services that support power generation facilities across Dominion Energy’s fleet. He also leads efforts related to laboratory accreditation, emissions testing, and compliance with EPA and state air quality regulations.
Drawing on his expertise in spectroscopy and environmental analysis, Dr. Brady has helped evaluate and implement innovative monitoring technologies that advance environmental compliance and operational excellence. Through his leadership, commitment to quality, and passion for mentoring others, he continues to make a meaningful impact on the future of environmental science and energy.
