Congratulations to Michael Bush ’22, recipient of the Distinguished Young Alumni Service Award!
Michael Bush is a Financial Planner and Investment Advisor Representative with Equitable Advisors in Cleveland, Ohio, where he partners with individuals, families, and businesses to develop comprehensive financial strategies. His work focuses on retirement planning, risk management, cash flow, budgeting, and helping clients build long-term financial security.
Beyond his professional career, Michael serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Central Commonwealth Black Caucus (CCBC), an organization dedicated to increasing Black representation across Virginia’s legislative bodies. His commitment to civic engagement and community leadership has remained a defining part of his journey since graduating from Christopher Newport University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
As a Bonner Service Scholar at CNU, an AmeriCorps volunteer teacher in Newark, New Jersey, and a candidate for the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors, Michael has consistently sought innovative solutions to address systemic community challenges. Today, he combines his expertise in financial planning with his passion for public service to help underserved communities build, preserve, and grow generational wealth.
