Congratulations to Michael S. Mabry ’16, recipient of the Distinguished Young Alumni Service Award!
A 2016 Christopher Newport University graduate and two-time captain of the men’s lacrosse team, Michael Mabry has dedicated his career to helping student-athletes reach their full potential—both on and off the field. His passion for leadership and personal growth has made him a national voice in student-athlete development and mental performance.
As President and Co-Founder of One Play Development, Michael partners with schools, teams, and organizations across the country to foster positive team culture, strengthen mental performance, and develop leaders through sports. A pioneer in incorporating sports psychology into coaching, he has spent the past decade championing a holistic approach to athletic and personal development.
Since graduating from Christopher Newport, Michael has mentored more than 10,000 student-athletes, inspiring them to lead with gratitude, resilience, and kindness. He holds a master’s degree in Sports Psychology and is the author of BPO: Best Possible Outcome, with his second book, The Success Formula, set to be released this fall.
