New artist, Stella Lefty, is currently under fire for her 2022 cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s song “because i liked a boy.” She’s not being cancelled for the song choice, but for how she introduced the song. 

“Olivia, f**k you,” she said to the camera. “Sabrina, I stan.”

Stella’s negative comment towards Olivia was due to the backstory of the song. “because i liked a boy” was written about the hate Sabrina recieved from Olivia fans after Olivia released her breakout song “driver’s license.”

Remember the line “and you’re probably with that blonde girl”? 👀

Anyway, now that Stella is becoming a new breakout country artist fans are now digging into her online presence, which led to her deleting the original video. But TikTok and X users have continued to share the video, leading to Stella commenting, “it was a joke omgggggg.”
