Fish have been on Earth for over 500 million years and they are still full of surprises. The “3-second memory” is a complete myth, some catfish have over 100,000 taste buds, and the sailfish hits 68 mph in open water. Oh, and clownfish are all born male and can change sex later in life.

That last one makes Finding Nemo a very different movie. If Nemo’s mom died in real life, Marlin would have become female and Nemo would have become his mate.
