FROM THE ARCHIVES: Did you know one of Dolly Parton's films premiered right here in Austin?

"The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" premiered at the Paramount Theatre in downtown in July 1982 and KTBC was there.

Parton starred as Mona Stangely, who ran a brothel in the fictional Texas town of Gilbert, opposite Burt Reynolds as her love interest, Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd.

Parton has passed away at the age of 80 after a long, storied career in entertainment.
