This app is to help protect clients and to make sure artists that keep their promises get rewarded for holding themselves to a high standard by being shown to more clients. That’s the only algorithm we use here. 

“Was that normal?”

People ask it quietly. Usually after the fact, usually to a friend. And it is almost never about the tattoo. It is about how they were treated while they got it.

Whether you ever got an answer came down to whether you happened to know a tattoo artist well enough to ask. That is the whole reason Inkling exists.

If you are getting tattooed: you say what you need before you see anyone. A private room. Clear pricing. A quiet session with no small talk. An accessible bathroom. Mark it a must and you are simply never shown artists who do not offer it. You go first, always, and artists only ever see the people who already picked them. Every review is attached to a real appointment, a deposit, a date that happened and a photo of the finished tattoo, and women’s, men’s and Enby answers each get their own column, because one blended score can hide a lot.

If you are the artist: this is the first place where what you actually do in the room is the thing that gets you found. You say what you run, you keep it, and you get put in front of the people looking for exactly that. No bidding, no boosting, no posting five times a week hoping it counts. Every enquiry already chose you. Nobody can invent a session that never happened. And starting out you can ask five past clients to vouch for you, so you are not sitting on an empty page.

Inkling cannot guarantee anyone’s safety. It is information to decide with, not a reason to stop paying attention. But it is written down now, and it belongs to the people who were actually in the chair.
