## Caption

A 2020 study found that honeybee venom can rapidly kill aggressive breast cancer cells in laboratory experiments. Researchers identified melittin, a major component of the venom, as responsible for much of this effect. At a specific concentration, the venom destroyed 100% of tested triple negative and HER2 enriched breast cancer cells within 60 minutes, while having less effect on normal cells. However, this was a laboratory study, not a proven cancer treatment.
